We are excited to invite you to be part of our prestigious event. The OC Fair Home Wine Competition has grown and prospered to become one of the largest and most comprehensive judging of California home wines in the state. Wines from amateur winemakers in California are judged including red, white, rosé, mead, fortied, sparkling, dessert, and other fruit or “country” wines. In 2023, 87 judges evaluated 40 unique varietals and 107 red blends and 28 white blends. In total, 686 dierent wines were entered and 530 awards were given to home winemakers throughout California.WHY SHOULD I COMPETE?Benets include:• Only $20 per bottle• Only one bottle per entry required• Competition is double blind• UC Davis’ 20 Point Judging sheets are used to assure quality• Judges’ Scoresheets will be mailed to you with their comments• Bragging rights with your fellow Home Winemakers! This is a great opportunity for all Home Winemakers to get objective comments about your wines. JUDGINGJudging will take place June 8, 2024 and will be performed by panels of experienced winemakers and wine connoisseurs. Judging is conducted “double-blind.” Neither the judges nor those pouring the wines know the identity of the wine being evaluated.
